Footwear designed by women for women. Chie Mihara draws on vintage influences ranging from 1930s femininity to 1980s humour, reworking past designs to reflect contemporary aesthetics and modern fashion. Timeless, romantic and fun; Spanish designer Chie launched her self-entitled shoe brand in 2002, designing footwear for the ‘everyday’ woman, asserting that “we’re mothers, working women, active women”. With Chie’s primary ethos being that women should be able to feel feminine, beautiful and attractive without giving up comfort. With a history of studying fashion design at the Kyushu Design Gakkuin and studying accessories design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Chie is no stranger to shoe wear design. But it is her experience working at Eneslow, an orthopaedic shoe store, learning about foot anatomy and common foot problems that inspired her comfortable approach to craftsmanship. Every Chie Mihara shoe features an anatomical footbed that Chie designed specifically to accommodate a woman's foot. Vibrant colours, textured embellishments and luxurious fabrics elevate the designs and have earned Chie a well-deserved cult-following. Chie Mihara has over 1000 clients worldwide, including luxury department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges, Isetan and Le Bon Marché.
