DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT| SHRIMPS
London based womenswear designer, Hannah Weiland, launched her playful ‘Shrimps’ fashion brand in 2013. After studying at London College of Fashion, doing a Diploma in Surface Textile Design, she went on to create unique and interesting pieces, perfect for consumers with a fun and cheerful fashion sense. Weiland’s collections are mainly influenced by witty modern art and light-hearted patterns, using a lot of ‘Faux Fur’ and block colour.
Since the beginning, she has collaborated with Lina Stores and Selfridges for their window displays, as well as the Topshop & Guests pop-up. In 2015, she was also asked to be a part of Vogue’s interview panel, for the Vogue festival, accompanied by Henry Holland, Amy Thomson and Quentin Jones, to answer questions about their business successes and give advice to up and coming entrepreneurs.
For her latest AW16 collection, Hannah Weiland has created lots of “pretty” and “feminine” coats in different lengths, with a main colour palette of pink, white and black. The designs feature face illustrations scattered over each garment and the ‘Faux Fur’ used is extremely soft and comfortable, perfect for the Winter season. So, if you love them as much as we do, order yours online today!
