Italian-born Elena Ghisellini graduated from the European Design Institute in Rome and was recognised as the most talented student of the year. Not long after she began working for Trussardi; 8 years later Ghisellini joined Salvatore Ferragamo as head of their leather goods division. In 2003 the designer founded her own company in Florence. The recognisable bags are all made in Italy of fine leather by the most skilled local craftsmen.
In addition to working with many illustrious brands, she also paired up with the creative stylist Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, for whom she created a line of accessories. She was recently appointed Head of Accessory Designer of Emilio Pucci.
